How can education contribute to peace in classrooms, schools and society? The tenth anniversary SELC brings together the experience of teachers and school leaders with perspectives from researchers and the public sector. Together, we explore belonging, fair opportunities and the flourishing of children and adults, from educational institutions to everyday relationships and teaching.

About the conference

This year’s theme understands peace as more than the absence of war: it is the active presence of justice at every level of the educational space – between nations and peoples, in our communities and homes, and in classrooms where young people do more than acquire knowledge: they flourish. The conference is for teachers, school leaders and the wider education community, bringing together practitioners, academics and policymakers from Slovakia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The tenth SELC is led by Co-Chairs Professor Simon Uttley and Martin Šmilňák, and hosted by Michal Polgár, Director of Libellus School. It is organised by Libellus School, Bratislava, in association with Koinonia Educational.
